Adaptive Technologies and Sensors in Human-Technology Interfaces

Co-evolution at the human-technology interface focuses on the fact that both the biological and the technical side of an interface are dynamic and influence each other. By investigating this mutual dependency, we at the TACTIC graduate school want to gain a deeper understanding of the causes of undesirable processes, such as inflammatory processes in the biological system and undesirable changes to the material surface of implants. On this basis, we will design new strategies to define or support desired processes of co-evolution. To do this, we will design innovative adaptive technologies and sensor approaches that can adapt to individual dynamics in the biological system and develop process-aware technologies that can bring about desired dynamics in the biological system.
